This is a very special Create Shares presentation from one of NAME's youth members. It's geared towards other youth, so bring your children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, neighbors, etc. But adults will like it too!
From Natalie Tolchin:
My name is Natalie. I am a miniaturist with a special interest in miniature foods. I’ve been drawn to miniatures since before I can remember, and started making my own miniatures over two years ago at the age of 11. I specialize in 1:12 scale items using polymer clay and chalk pastels.
In this session, I will demonstrate for a kid and teen audience how to make a miniature cheese and a miniature apple. I would love for you to work along with me!
For the miniature cheese, you will need:
- white Sculpey III clay (or similar)
- yellow Sculpey III clay (or similar)
- a toothpick
- optional: brown or red chalk pastels
For the miniature apple, you will need:
- glow-in-the-dark Sculpey III clay (or similar) for the fruit (this is because it is a good color, not because we need this to glow in the dark)
- brown Sculpey III clay (or similar) for the stem
- a clay sculpting tool with pointed rubber/silicone end (important for shaping the apple and inserting the stem)
- yellow, green, and red chalk pastels
