To participate, please send in your picture(s) and a brief description to Barbara Thornton-Hill at bathca@gmail.com and we will post it HERE. Don’t forget to include your mailing address. After the end of the monthly challenge, you will receive a small thank you gift for participating.
This month's sample comes from Katie Vitullo:
Katie is sharing her long love of pottery and her covid-vanquished fear of her kiln. She found a love of pottery after taking several classes with The Hairy Potter. When her wonderful parents gave her a kiln as a moving present, she found a fear of burning down the house too hard to get over. Until Covid! With more time than she knew what to do with, she finally cracked open the kiln after 10 years and got it working. Since then, she's thrown many pots into the wall (they flew off the wheel), over-cooked her glazes (everything turned brown), and had to redo the wiring after a stink bug tried to make a home in the kiln sitter electrical box. Her house is still standing, her glaze colors are finally pretty, and she's experimenting with new shapes. She encourages everyone to try something a little scary.
