July 13 Sat. – Mixed Media Day / Closing Day
•    Miniaturists are masters at mixed media.  We use so many different media in our creations. For mixed media day we're highlighting some Trash 2 Treasure videos. First up are lamps and candleholders from jewelry findings and caps https://youtu.be/eBI3BNkiM_Q?si=osKxJbOryR1xbWFK These use a variety of things you may have around the house to make realistic looking items for your miniature scenes. Let’s check out many more ideas here.

•    Join us at 7PM Eastern for our Closing Campfire for games, live demo, and all around fun to close out the week. •    AT 7:30PM during the Campfire, Preble McDaniel will share how to make glass art from plastic. This live demo will be on fire (using a candle).

July 12 Fri. – Metal Day

•    Metals make wonderful accessories, add structure, or allow us to light up our miniatures. A video from Sugar Charm Shop on making 1" scale metal pots from thin sheet copper. (Her food videos are great too.)  Plus more videos working with metals are here.

•    Where would we be without wood? Wood can be cut, carved, and sanded into so many different shapes and we miniaturists love to use it. Let’s check out this incredible 1:144 scale Working pole lathe  For more from nanotray and others on wood go here.

July 10 Wed. – Glass/Stone/Marble Day
•    I hope you see the light of these materials. Or maybe it is too heavy with its swirling delight. Items made of glass, stone, marble and more are used in wonderful miniatures. Let’s start out with a great video showing a demonstration of miniature glass blowing from the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) July 9 Tues. – Paint and Drawing Day
•    Painting is an art that can be applied to many different media. As miniaturists we paint our furniture, the walls, exteriors, landscaping and even fool the eye with Trompe l'oeil.

July 8 Mon. –Fiber/Textile Arts Day

•    We can piece it back together into a quilt. Fiber is another popular Arts N Crafts category. Whether it is quilting, weaving, clothing or rug making it all falls under the fiber category. July 7 Sun. – Pottery/Clay Day
•    Let’s play in the mud today. Miniaturists sculpt many items in clay including dolls, food and pots among many other items. We have a really cool, short video from the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) demonstrating mini pottery.  Want more on pottery and clay, then check out the other tutorials and videos for this category here.
•    Did you purchase this year’s Camp Make-A-Mini Arts and Crafts project? Debbie Young will be teaching how to assemble it today in 1:24 scale. Class starts at noon Eastern time. Today is focused on 1:24, but if you purchased either scale kit you may attend. Please contact Debbie Young if you need the link to the session which is only for the students who purchased this workshop.

July 6 Sat. – Opening Day
•    Welcome to 2024 Camp Make-A-Mini. This year our theme is Arts and Crafts. Each day we will be featuring a different Arts and Craft category. Your Special Events team has been busy finding a great selection of videos and tutorials for each category. Be sure to check back each day for the extra pages to learn more about making our wonderful minis. 
•    Today is featuring the Arts and Craft movement or style. This year’s workshop is done in this style. But there is more info on this topic here.
•    Did you purchase this year’s Camp Make-A-Mini Arts and Crafts project? Debbie Young will be teaching how to assemble it today and tomorrow. Classes start at noon Eastern time.
