Bring a touch of handmade charm to your miniature home or garden with this creative, hands-on workshop! This planter could be used in your upcoming NAME day project, or any project you are looking to landscape. In this class, participants will design and construct a beautiful wooden planter box complete with a trellis. It will be filled with a delightful arrangement of hydrangeas and clematis on the trellis. You will be guided on how to make flower and leaf stems and leave with a one-of-a-kind miniature piece that you crafted. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or new to miniatures, this class is designed to inspire and bloom with possibility. The class is available in 1/12, 1/24, and 1/48 scales.
Techniques included: I will be teaching the following techniques: In this class I will teach the techniques to make hydrangeas, and clematis. I will show how to vary flower color with copic markers. We will then assemble all flowers stems in the planter box/ on the trellis.
Materials needed:
Copic Markers to color the flowers (I will provide information prior to class about the colors used for the prototype), tacky glue, wood glue, stain or paint for the planter box, pointed tweezers, kemper ball stylus, large ball stylus, mouse pad, wire cutter or scissors, clear acrylic matt finish, and yellow acrylic paint.
