For February, we are asking you to share pictures of a miniature bakery.
Here are the beautiful submissions.
Please be patient with the Create team (we are all volunteers) as it may take a few days for your pictures to be posted. You WILL receive a gift but it might take a few weeks.
This month's sample challenge comes from Carolyn Eiche:
I won this 1/4" scale coffee shop in a NAME Auction about 3 years ago. It was all finished just as you see it. Unfortunately, I don't know who made it. If anyone recognizes it and can give me more information, I'd love to hear from them.

The bakery display in quarter inch scale (1:48) was started by winning the silent auction of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts.
The little blue dollhouse and outside gardens turned into the “SunLight” Bakery.
I had so much fun filling the bakery with miniatures from all over the world. There is even a vintage delivery van parked in front of the shop.

My 1:12 bakery is in a Paris book. I have many fond memories of French Patisseries. I made this many years ago when I had a friend who let me use her wood shop power tools. I based the shelving on something similar I saw on Pinterest by Kim Saulter of Kimsminibakery. This scene was designed to absorb years and years of bakery swaps plus my own experiments.

Here is my entry for February’s challenge: “Coffee & Donuts” month. The “Corner Store” was a 2012 Maryland State Day project. My Sugarplum Sweet Shop featured donuts and ice cream on the first floor, and a doll shop on the 2nd floor.

This is my 1:12 scale Rose Cottage Bakery which I built a number of years ago as a tribute to my Aunt “Honey”. She loved pink and her kitchen was decorated in her favorite color. I have many fond memories of tea times in her cozy little kitchen, so this is a bakery and tea shop. The proprietor, Aunt Bee, is busy at work in the kitchen and two little teddy bear ladies are enjoying tea out front.

Here's my miniature bakery. I change the baked goods and decorations with the seasons. My husband and I made all the cabinets and the case. We softened plexiglass and molded it over a bread pan to get the curve in the glass. I made many of the bakery goods, but purchased the beautiful cake. The boxes and bags are made from printables that I found online. My husband 3-D printed the lights.

This is a picture of a cake shop that I made, I just recently added some cupcake liners that I made over this weekend to it. I still plan on finishing the sidewalk and put up my cake logo to the front sign. I plan on attaching a donut shop to the left side of the bakery where the door is. The donut shop will have the prep kitchen for the cake shop including a fridge full of cakes, prep sink, prep table, donut fryer and then a display selling donuts...
I thought one day that I would open a life size bakery/cake shop (Creative Cakes by Beth), but I had two kids late in life instead. I have a full-time job, make cakes for people once in a while and make a lot of miniatures for shows around the country.

This began as a class at a house party. I loved the easy design which allowed light in from top and front. No wiring necessary.

This is my Bakery in a Gift Bag. It was a project at our Now and Again Club weekend Cabin Getaway in 2005.
The baked goods were totebag favors from Club members.

When I was 15, I spent my Saturdays working at Littlethings dollhouse store in Irvington, NY. The owner, Carrol O’Connor, taught me how to build kits, wallpaper, electrify. I learned so much working at her lovely shop and helping her at some local dollhouse shows. I’m almost 47 years old now. I’ve been collecting miniatures and working on projects for many years now.
In 2013, I had my first child and took a long break from my passion of dollhouses/miniatures.
In 2019, when my boys were 2.5 and 5.5, my husband unexpectedly passed away at the age of 38. I was devastated. Several months later, Covid hit. A short time later, I started getting back into my love of miniatures. Painting, creating, immersing myself in miniatures became so therapeutic for me.
In 2021, I reached out to Goliath miniatures and ordered this front opening Victorian storefront. It was the last one John Kubish made before he sadly passed away a few short years later. I always wanted to make a bakery, so I got to work.
The front shop sign was custom made by Crab Pot miniatures in the UK. When I was in my early 20’s, I had the pleasure of joining Carrol O’Connor at the London Dollhouse festival. That’s where I picked up the beautiful blue wallpaper. It sat in a box for many years until I decided to use it for my bakery! Many of the cakes and furniture are from Whimsies dollhouse shop in Greenwich, CT.
I had so much fun making this bakery! I hope you enjoy the photos!

My 12th scale bakery built from a workshop hosted by Camp Mini ha ha in Canada. The entire outside including the brick, slate and stones are made from egg carton. The slate is finished to look like Newfoundland slate. The bike was a white metal piece that I painted, aged and weaved the basket. I’ve been making and collecting baked goods from all my travels.

From Elizabeth Lubera:
My challenge submission – which I call “Tea for Two” – features a tea cart from the living room of my favorite miniature creation: a house I call the “Little House on Willow Tree Place.” The detail photo shows the tea cart, complete with a teapot, two tea cups, and a tasty miniature cake, sliced to serve. The Blue Willow patterned china – a special order -- was produced by the incomparable Stokesay Ware, which specializes in fine china in miniature.
Also evident in the detail view is a magnificent Queen Anne chair, hand-painted by artist Linda Wexler in English Chinoiserie style with liquid gold leaf on lacquer. The chair complements the hand-painted chest (which holds a myriad of drawers that actually open!) visible behind it by the stairs. On the stair landing is a watercolor scene of a Central New York landscape, painted in miniature scale by artist Roger Moore.

I made this bakery several years ago using lots of pieces I made or modified. All the baked goods were purchased and I believe I gained weight just looking at all the tempting treats! This was a fun project because I don’t usually make businesses.

This is my bakery vignette that I made. The lamb cake on the counter is a special favorite of mine. My late MIL used to always make a lamb cake every year for Easter. They were only OK taste wise but they were ridiculously cute. I miss them.

From Anne Renwick:
My bakery gets its name, Butter Bakery, from a ribbon that had the word Butter on it. Most of the mini pastries, the pink and blue containers, and the copper heart pan on the wall are feves, one of my mini obsessions. The display shelf on the left is from a kit, and the Easter treats on its lower shelf are my first attempt at polymer clay food. The triangular (Eiffel tower?) display shelf unit on the right is an ornament, complete with pastries. More feves treats are on the white wire stand. The wicker basket of pastries, and Easter treats on the top shelf on the opposite side, and the petit fours on the bottom shelf of the middle display case, are artisan pieces. I don't remember where I got the kittens from, and there really shouldn't be any in a bakery, but hey, this is imaginary, right?

My submission is an embellished display piece from Mini Etchers. My RL kitchen is coffee themed so this was a perfect addition. Instead of donuts though, cinnamon rolls are fresh out of the oven. 😁
