In my 1”-scale Victorian (by Jack Nash) the maid dusts framed marriage certificates of my kids weddings. I’m sorry I can’t remember the artist’s name. The weddings were in 1991 and 1995.

This is my Mad Hatter’s Tea Room from a Lakeland Miniature Guild funday. The figures were made by several artists. I made the rabbit.

Attracted by the smell of sulfur, the Boomers are fixing up a used firework. Boomers are terribly shy so I feel extra special to have interacted with them to learn more about them.
Banger is supervising Sparky who is hanging the sign as Smoky sets out some geraniums. Meanwhile Sparkle is warning Popper to be careful on the roof. Sizzle is in the upper room putting out more geraniums, while Powder and Crackle check out the fuses and wrappers for sale. Or maybe they were stocking the shelves.

Beneath this amazing tree house made by a dear friend of mine, a group of children are spending an afternoon wrapped up in playful adventures and carefree summer fun. One little boy sits proudly on a wooden stool holding his toy airplane, while nearby a tiny toddler splashes happily in a galvanized tub filled with bath toys. In the background, three girls laugh and jump rope under the shade of the tree.

Haunted Kitchen:
I don’t use dolls in my scenes, except in exceptional cases. This is one of the rare scenes I created using a “doll” which was cut from a Halloween decoration from Michael’s — a garland of skeletons. I heated his joints with a candle and bent them to pose him. He is wearing an apron made from a napkin from Logan’s Roadhouse and a beret made from an acorn cap.
The stove and cabinet are “bashed” from inexpensive cabinets bought at Michael’s. In the case of the stove, extensive modification was done to remove shelves and create the appearance of a woodburning stove. I made the table of basswood, stained to look old and grungy.
The fun part was filling the cabinet, pantry, and tabletop with all manner of bottles, jars, bowls, boxes and other containers, books, papers, and other little accessories. Some of the bottles are glass, but most are pieces of tubing, dowel, plastic, cardboard, soda straw, clay or metal, painted or glass-stained to appear like glass. They are filled with various substances, from colored glue to kiwi seeds, the knots on the ends of grape stems, or other natural materials. A number of the bowls are acorn caps. Most of the pots are metal miniatures, except for the one hanging on the wall, which is the plastic bubble in which Heartgard tablets for cats are packaged.
Lots of critters inhabit the room — notice the two black cats, the mouse on the bottom shelf of the cabinet, the owl on top of the cabinet, the frog on the table, the rat in the cage on the floor, the bat in the hanging cage, and the snake at the front edge of the room.

This handmade 1:24th scale rag doll features delicately braided yarn hair, a soft fabric body, and a sweet blue gingham dress accented with a tiny ribbon bow. Carefully crafted with miniature detail, she adds warmth and whimsy to the little girl’s bedroom in my Queen Anne Victorian house. Of course, she is very seldom found on the bed – far more often on the floor!

This is my Bridal Shop as a sample for our SC State Day in 1993. I made the doll and then decided to put her in this shop. Shop needed a bride trying on her veil. All other items were made by me, gifts from friends, and I bought the mannequin that was made from an antique hankie.

This is my Hello Dolly "or not". My magician obviously had difficulty with this latest trick he attempted. He must not have read all the directions first. I included two different background layers.

Attached is a mini scene with the smallest scale railroad people who are rock climbers. Some of the rocks I made and some I found outside. I can't tell which is which now. Can you?

I spotted these two dolls on Etsy and fell in love with them. For a Wee C club project I created a voodoo shop in an alley, supposedly in New Orleans, run by an albino vampire with her ‘daughter’ who is seen here playing in the alley next to the shop. It does have lighting, and the one in the alley is blue, which can make it look nice and eerie. While I could have just made the shop, the dolls helped it make more sense and more spooky. I imagine walking the streets of New Orleans and coming upon a little shop stuck in a corner of an alley and after entering, I am served by someone who scares the heck out of me. This was a really fun project. It also encouraged me to research some of the items that I included in the shop. On the outside walls, you cannot see, I created a wall hanging to emulate “flag “from Haiti. I hope you enjoy it.

I usually do not include dolls in my miniatures as I like to allow the viewer to use their own creativity to imagine the stories behind the scenes. But I include two dolls in the attic room in my May 2026 submission.

It all started with the pigeon. I saw a park scene with a bum feeding the pigeon. I described how I saw the bum to Pearl Jordan and she created him for me. I then created the rest of the scene and placed him on the park bench. Light is electrified but not lit in picture.

There is no doll here but you can see by the outline where it was! This was a club project. Every month we received a new clue and read a chapter to learn "what was Victoria's Secret?" with the solution in December. (Created by those crazy cousins Micro Nelson and Donna Jacques).
