Some heroes ride brooms, maybe… Create a fun witch’s academy or a cozy house for your favorite flying hero! Students will learn how to make faux thatching, faux wooden timbers, lots of painting and texturing techniques, like wet washes and dry brushing, and the almost limitless potential of foam core for building. This piece sits on an open book of your choice as the base and is just waiting for you to finish creating the story!

Techniques included: Creating thatched roof using a black bath towel, dry brushing and wet washing painting techniques, using spackle for creating realistic stonework, basic landscaping, texturing and preparing foamcore to look like stucco walls and faux wooden timbers. I will demonstrate how to use UV resin to create windowpanes. The windows will be included in the kit already assembled. These techniques are very useful in all scales and are great for adding to your dollhouse building knowledge.
Materials Needed: Acrylic paints of your choice, Tacky glue, a cutting board, paint brushes, a wire brush (provided in kit), a good hobby knife, a hot glue gun and glue sticks if desired. Teacher will provide a full list of items in a pdf 3 weeks before class.
