In this workshop we will be assembling a sampling of Cape style furniture to furnish the Cape Dutch Manor House from a previous workshop. Of course the furniture is suitable for all scenes and projects. When the area in and around what is now known as Cape Town in South Africa was settled, furniture was functional and hard wearing unless it was brought in by ship. The furniture makers created their own style but the decorative embellishments were directly dependent on how much money you were willing to spend. The average settlers chose simpler designs which have endured and become sought after today.
