Cynthia studied Industrial design at RISD, built architectural models, and worked in fashion design (Dosa inc.) and for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (magazines and TV). In 2002 she branched out, designing couture wedding dresses and hand-embroidered quilts for private clients before launching her line of Threadfollower hand-stitching kits in 2011.
Stewart Tabori and Chang published her first book, Last Minute Fabric Gifts, in 2006. Her newest book, The Wind in the Willows Felt Friends, came out in September 2022 published by David and Charles.
